United Land Services (ULS) is a full-service landscaping Company. At United, we offer an all-inclusive suite of commercial landscape installation and maintenance services, including but not limited to landscape design and maintenance, irrigation systems, hardscapes, and outdoor lighting. Whether a single-family home development, condominium complex, commercial building, or shopping center, we handle it all.
This position is responsible for the support in daily production oversight for ensuring landscape jobs are met both timely and achieve the highest quality.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ride sod jobs to ensure quality.
- Direct semi-drivers throughout their day and help route them accordingly.
- Manage direct employees (Examples: punch team/ in house lay crew)
- Help with scheduling and billing in the office.
- Manage sod subs in the field.
- Answer phone calls regarding sod truck ETA's and completion status of yards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures – to include safety management, EPA and OSHA.
- Actively promotes safety through use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to guard against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Responsible for completing all training classes and seminars, at management’s discretion.
Required/ Preferred Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and a minimum of three years’ progressive landscaping experience with a focus on sod – including a valid Florida driver’s license with clean MVR is required.
An equivalent combination of related experience and training may substitute for diploma requirement at management’s discretion.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism, always.
- Ability to exhibit quality workmanship with completed work product.
- Estimating and job costing experience.
- Ability to read and understand maps and instructions in addition to schematic drawings and diagrams.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to maintain a positive image as a representative of ULS’s employee base.
Physical Demands:
Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, for extended periods of time while traveling or visiting job sites for inspection. Performs repetitive motions. May be required to help move up to 50 to over 100 lbs. with assistance.
Safety Requirements:
Adhere to all OSHA and Federal/State DOT requirements. Long pants and work boots required. Uniform shirts will be provided.
Work Environment:
The work environment for this position is that of a typical outdoor setting in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock.
