JOB SUMMARY:
PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Staff Accountant is a key support staff to the Accounting department with primary responsibilities involving lease and loan booking, lease and loan disposals, account reconciliations, and other projects and duties as assigned by management.
JOB DUTIES:
Lease/Loan Accounting
- Book leases and loans in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Dispose leases and loans in accordance with GAAP.
- Process all received amendments, re-writes, and extensions.
- Update desk manual for lease accounting as needed.
General Accounting Tasks
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations as assigned.
- Review Lease Accounting Policies & Procedures (P&Ps) and assess effectiveness.
- Assist with internal and external audit projects.
- Keep current with GAAP changes.
- Assist Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, and Controller with any open projects or assignments.
- Process corporate credit card activities for all company cardholders.
- Process miscellaneous billing transactions in lease accounting software.
- Process monthly intercompany billings to other business units.
General
- Ensure prompt and regular attendance.
- Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management.
- Travel as business needs may require, currently expected to be minimal.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field is minimally required.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
