SUMMARY
The Quality Control Clerk ensures that all jobs are started in full compliance with United Mail and USPS procedures. Keeps detailed and accurate documentation of sign-offs quality sampling and quality issues. The Quality Control Clerk takes daily direction from the Process Improvement Manager and keeps this individual informed of any and all quality related concerns and issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Check, monitor and maintain quality control documents.
· Troubleshoot and investigate quality issues.
· Make regular rounds checking the quality of active jobs and reporting any issues.
· Completes all required paperwork using USPS using Window books
· Will be a backup for the Postal Liaison
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
· Experience working with different software programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Window books.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, work effectively under pressure.
· Previous experience working with USPS requirements desired.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required. Previous experience working with USPS desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Has the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Has the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the work shift. Have the ability to lift
25 – 50 pounds to waist level and up to 25 pounds above the shoulders. Work at a computer and keyboard occasionally throughout shift.
WORK ENVIROMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must work in both office and plant floor environment. Manufacturing areas, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust.
