United Methodist Homes, a nonprofit senior living organization serving its -140-year mission to provide relationship-centered care is currently seeking a Full-Time Chef Manager to work on our Wesley Village campus located in Shelton, CT in our Skilled Nursing and Rehab Community: Bishop Wicke Health & Rehabilitation.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Directs & supervises staff members
Prepares and cooks meals according to menus in accordance with established procedures and time schedules
General oversight of day to day operations
Performs daily and periodic sanitation activities in accordance with community and regulatory standards.
Conducts weekly kitchen inspection and documentation
Collaborates with interdisciplinary leadership team for community operations and the dining experience
Provides assistance to Dining Services Manager for discipline and counseling of dining staff when necessary
Responsible for ordering, receiving and storing all foods and supplies
Collaborates with the Dining Manager on the department’s budget
Works with the Dining Manager to educate all new hires and current dining staff
Collaborates with all staff to maintain the safety and security of all who reside, visit, or work in the community
Must be able to work evening/weekend and holiday rotation
Requirements:
3 year experience cooking in a senior living or other health care environment (preferred)
Culinary Education Background (preferred)
ServSafe Certification
Ability to effectively communicate in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Willingness to undergo a complete background check, including physical and drug screen
