For over 30 years, United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) has been managing the nation’s organ transplant system.  We manage the “Wait List” for those who are waiting to receive a life-saving organ (or as we call it, the “gift of life”).  We create the nation’s transplant policies and ensure patient safety standards are being met.  We educate the nation’s transplant healthcare providers and support patients and their families.  Our  team is located in Richmond, Virginia.

We are offering a 12-week Summer Internship for the Summer of 2024 (May 20th- Aug 9th).  All students will be assigned a mentor, will have structured orientation and will be placed directly on one of our teams.

·       Students will work 36-40 hours a week and will receive fair compensation

Professional Education Intern

Position Description

To assist the Education team in designing and developing instructional offerings for UNOS staff and the transplant community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with subject matter experts and the Education team to develop instructional offerings from job aids to interactive elearning modules using a variety of tools from Adobe Illustrator to Articulate Storyline
  • Redesign existing instructional offerings to bring older courses up to new design standards and refresh content to comply with policy, effective practices, and accessibility standards
  • Apply ADDIE framework to create a design and development plan for a given project

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories
  • Ability to think creatively and to share ideas
  • Use of office technology like MS office, is desired, but not required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous instructional design or teaching experience desired, but not required
  • Graphic design skills
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively, in a team environment

Duration:

  • 12 weeks, 40 hours a week

Location:

  • Hybrid, in office and at home

Education

A bachelor’s degree—completed or in progress—in instructional design and technology, master’s students are also encouraged to apply
