Job Description:
The Global Brand Manager oversees a team responsible for global brand management, creative branding projects, and development of customer-facing communications. He/She/They are responsible for development, implementation, and ongoing management of naming and brand architecture across the company. He/She/They manage a range of brand projects and make branding decisions on behalf of UPS. He/She/They have responsibility for UPS brand guidelines from development through accurate application across all communications touchpoints. The Global Brand Manager positions the company to be consistent in brand representation to enhance brand perceptions and increase profitability. He/She/They also educate UPS employees on their important role as brand stewards when representing the brand in both visual and verbal communications.
Responsibilities
- Leads Brand Management team:
- Responsible for management of and adherence to UPS brand guidelines – making updates and additions as needed
- Educates internal teams and external partners on the UPS brand and brand guidelines
- Leads product naming engagements across the UPS organization
- Coordinates trademark searches and registrations working closely with legal
- Provides guidance on brand matters in mergers and acquisition projects
- Oversees enhancements to UPS branded assets (Package cars, packaging, uniforms, etc.)
- Regularly presents key projects to senior leadership.
- Plan and document Brand Management strategies that are modern, fresh, and reflective of an inclusive/performance brand.
- Manages and Develops Team Members: Provides leadership, coaching and feedback/support to develop team members.
- Collaborates Internally: Develops relationships and partners with internal stakeholders to gain alignment on projects; gains consensus and needed input on brand projects from stakeholders to assure quality of creative output
- Maintains and Manages Brand Financials: Tracks expenditures against budget; allocates funding and ensures projects remain within budget; forecasts future costs and needs for the group; tracks and reports on trademark licensing revenue
- Oversees Production: Responsible for overseeing brand photo shoots building upon the internal UPS asset library and ensuring the UPS brand is properly portrayed. Ensures that all assets are then made available for internal use in communications development.
Knowledge and Skills
- Brand Management: experience with development of Masterbrand (Corporate Identity) brand guidelines and their practical application to communications
- Creative Development: experience with creative development process at either a client organization or agency
- Project Management: strong project management skills required and the ability to manage multiple workstreams at one time is critical (brand team oversees a very high volume of work so organization and prioritization are key)
- Effective Communicator: requires strong communication skills and the ability to navigate through complexity across various functions of the UPS organization
- Vendor/Supplier Management: experience managing vendors/suppliers/agencies to review and recommend appropriate external partners based on business needs to internal stakeholders; provide input into the creation of contracts or agreements; communicate expectations and feedback to external partners; develop strong working relationships with external partners
- Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism or Graphic Design – Preferred
- Experience with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. – Preferred
- Experience with brand licensing - preferred

Salary : $60,100 - $76,000
