Job Description: Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cash Management: track donations and pledges, send out statements, reconcile petty cash and accounts receivables
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Process payroll and maintain all personnel files
- Accounts Payable
- Prepare bank deposits and bring to bank
- Prepare financial reports as needed
- Prepare tax information/returns (1099’s, CT paid leave, W-2’s, state & federal employee liabilities)
- Support and prepare documents for yearly Audit
- Year-end closing and reconciliation of accounts
- Support budget preparation
- Create and distribute weekly church bulletins & inserts
- Create and distribute church publications and newsletters
- Maintain church calendar and track church volunteers
- Answer phones, emails, incoming and outgoing mail, order office supplies, office equipment maintenance as well as general office support
- Social Media support (Facebook & Instagram)
- Support tenants
- Manage access to the building
- Support the work of the Pastor
Competencies
Attention to detail, organized and accurate. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, problem solving, trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Knowledge and Skills Required
QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite and strong Excel skills
Education and Experience Needed
3 years QuickBooks/Bookkeeping experience, prior church office work helpful
Part-time – 12-15 hours per week
Pay: $20 per hour
