PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible or providing Shipping and Receiving assistance and guidance for their assigned site. Shipping and Receiving Clerks support the shipment of product in and out of the facility.

Key duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Check in and out all truck drivers, assign Dock
  • Accuracy of all paperwork
  • Follow all customer
  • Assist supervision/management as
  • Follow company policies, guidelines, and work
  • Maintain professional relationship with the carriers, customers, and team
  • Perform shipping and receiving
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out
  • Place driver’s license information and or seal numbers in the
  • Fill out pallet receipts for pallet accounts and/or bill for
  • Ensure cross dock paperwork is created and handed
  • Setup trucks to pick per supervisor
  • Always maintain a professional manner in appearance and
  • Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if
  • Develop PC skills to perform any e-mailing, reports, label preparation and order
  • Must report overages, shortages, defective materials, or questionable conditions to the department
  • Required to produce accurate inbound paperwork so warehouse can confirm delivery of
  • Receive incoming products and • Notification and/or delivery of incoming product to end user.
  • Ensure back up documentation (Packing Slip ) to support computer system entries.
  • Requires completion of daily Shipping/Receiving entries in computer
  • Requires preparation of paperwork in system, management of product to be shipped or
  • Responsible for knowledge of product location within
  • Review bill
  • Confirm all orders are
  • Ensure the driver reviews bill documentation and confirm the driver has all the correct paperwork for the load with the correct destination.
  • Ensure that driver receives company seal for inspection by Guard

Functions may vary dependent on areas of operation.

  • Always maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications.
  • Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
  • Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Always follow posted security procedures while in the building.
  • Participate in Safety and Educational Training.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: - High School Diploma or GED

Experience: - 1 to 2 years of experience preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Some experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to
interpret packing slips, enter the computer the correct information, to acknowledge
receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
  • Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used
and required by the major freight carriers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Stand, walk; use hands and feet to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
  • Work longer hours as needed to satisfy customer and USCS daily and seasonal requirements.
  • May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
  • Position may require occasional warehouse work requiring someone to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to an eight-hour shift; lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs.; bend, twist and reach to check freight, stack boxes, and label.
