About this role:
The Media Intern will be responsible for supporting the marketing team’s paid media efforts. As it relates to paid media, this intern will support the team in executing digital marketing campaigns that promote a variety of the USGA’s products, services and initiatives. This includes internally supported marketing campaigns as well as campaigns that are planned and executed by the USGA’s media agency of record. They will also support media buys with our endemic media partners. The Media intern will also help coordinate email marketing efforts, including developing Victory Club emails, daily “know before you go” emails to ticketed fans during championships, and assisting with the development of email campaigns with third-party vendors. Additionally, the intern will play a key role in developing creative briefs and working with the creative services team to support the USGA’s marketing campaigns.
In addition to these core competencies, the intern will also support other projects that relate to planning for the USGA’s broadcast media assets as well as executing USGA corporate partner and endemic media marketing plans.
This role will maintain a broad view across digital performance marketing levers including affiliate marketing, search marketing, programmatic and social media advertising. The intern will be expected to not only help execute these tactics but use their analytical and organizational skills to report on these campaigns.
What you'll do:
Paid Campaign Management
Support paid marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels, including social media, SEM, affiliate and display. Act as liaison with account directors, internal departments, creative team and agency. Create and manage timelines and project delivery; identify audiences and segmentation. Craft marketing content including email copy, Google search content, social media ads, banner ads and other retargeting efforts. Partner with creative services and account leads to craft assets, A/B test, evaluate and optimize for best results. Identify new opportunities for growth, focusing on critical metrics for USGA products, tickets, handicap registrations, new audience growth, and engagement.
Reporting
Analyze marketing campaign performance and trends. Produce and present reports to understand effectiveness, and showcase the marketing team’s efforts and ROI on a predetermined cadence. Identify successes and areas to improve, set benchmarks for future campaigns and share findings across departments.
