About the Role

Due to rapid growth, we are hiring a Controller for our office in Canton, MS. The Controller will be responsible for the supervision, oversight, and development of the accounting department. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards under US GAAP including percentage of completion revenue recognition. Translation........we need a talented Regional Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages accounting operations including Payroll, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Revenue Recognition.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of the budget, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Manage and comply with local and local government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Management and development of financial staff including recruiting, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Strong understanding of USGAAP and related applications
  • Accounting designation (CPA or CMA) preferred
  • 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, to include percentage of completion accounting
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team

Key Nice-To-Haves

  • MBA in related field
  • CPA
  • GAAP certification
