Position Summary: The Creative Services Manager (Manager) manages and implements projects that motivate people to give, advocate, and volunteer. The manager is responsible for creating and executing projects that support marketing, community impact and engagement through the creative process for the entire United Way of Greater Nashville Region.
Shared administrative duties are the responsibility of each employee to ensure effective internal controls. The Manager is accountable for contributions to meet or exceed all organizational goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Marketing:
As a member of the Marketing and Communications team you will:
- Produce materials under the direction of the Director, Creative Services. Materials includes signage, presentations, invitations, campaign collateral, impact reports. The role of the Manager is to participate in the action planning process and to provide local support for the production/pick up of materials. Creative Services projects are assigned via project management tool Wrike. Wrike Training will be provided.
- Participate in strategic marketing and communications activities including: workplace communications, public relations, general communications, advertising, printing and publications, special events and website as assigned by the Director, Creative Services
- Participate in the development of advertising and collateral materials to support the annual campaign that aligns with the overall marketing strategy of United Way of Greater Nashville.
- Help create and develop presentation materials for special events with the Marketing Communications team. Obtain feedback and approval of materials from the Director, Creative Services.
- Maintain the Messaging Calendar by ensuring all events and/or initiatives are in the calendar with relevant dates.
- Attend action planning meetings which support a variety of projects for example (United We Dine, Days of Action, Annual Meeting)
- Other duties as required
Education:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications and/or graphic design or 35years of experience in marketing communications and/or graphic design experience:
Qualifications:
- Education or experience with marketing, communications, , public relations, responsibilities
- Graphic design experience with digital projects for print and webis a must.
- Collateral development, production coordination, social media marketing, and online engagement strategies – including website content development and management.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills, including presentation/public speaking ability and desire
- Ability to manage tactical communication activities through interns and volunteers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, email management systems, WordPress, website design/support with wordpress, squarespace is required.
- Non-profit organizations experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work with diverse constituency and relate to individuals and groups in a manner that will inspire respect and confidence
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision
- Ability to withstand stress and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license

Working Conditions:
- Minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Based on marketing activities, position often requires work beyond traditional hours
- Flexible schedule required during special projects and events
- Work involves frequent interaction with other members of the United Way staff, volunteers, representatives of non-profit agencies and the general public
- Occasional use of personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed)
- Valid driver’s license required
