The manager will work closely with the Director of Community Impact and BUW staff to build relationships with funded partners, analyze results of funded programs, monitor overall program investment impact, and determine best practices for achieving the highest quality programs that support our community. This position monitors BUW’s community partner investment portfolio for performance and provides technical assistance and training to partners to ensure their ability to meet mutually agreeable benchmarks. In this role, the manager also helps ensure that current and potential future partners have equitable access to BUW community impact funding and furthers BUW’s commitment to enriching community experiences through the advancement of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Monitor community partner investments and assist in delivering exceptional service to funded partners
The manager is responsible for monitoring the BUW investment portfolio for performance, providing technical assistance to funded partners to ensure their ability to meet various benchmarks and service delivery targets. The manager also offers guidance and direction on grant applications to partners including outcomes management, continuous quality improvement, data management, and reporting.
Manage reporting system to measure funded partner progress
The manager organizes data and information to communicate results of BUW investments to donors and community. The manager conducts statistical measurement and analyses of community impact programs, interprets information, and makes recommendations to advance initiatives and investments. The person in this role also prepares various monthly, quarterly, and annual evaluation reports. Maintains community partner contracts and procedural policies and standards.
Maintain relationships with community partners to advance United Way’s mission
The manager builds and maintains relationships with funded partners and other community organizations to identify community needs, develop approaches to meeting needs, and ensures successful implementation of Berkshire United Way’s mission in the community. The manager establishes and builds relationships with expert community stakeholders to determine the best practices for achieving highest impact results, identifies effective program investments and analyzes results of programming.
Manifests BUW’s leadership in the larger nonprofit and philanthropic community
The manager participates in community collaborations, partnerships, and national and state organizations involved in community impact work, identifying appropriate roles for Berkshire United Way to model best practices and explore promising strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in public administration, social work, or related field; or a relevant combination of education and profession/volunteer experience in the community and human services sectors.
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years’ experience in positions with progressively increasing responsibilities in research and evaluation is preferred. Demonstrated application of collecting and measuring data that helps to determine program outcomes and best practices.
KNOWLEDGE: Broad knowledge of human services systems, including an understanding of social service policies, programs, United Way operations and program planning/measurement/evaluation best practices. Knowledge of community political, social, business, and economic conditions and environments.
