OptumCare company is a part of the Optum network of health care providers, whose mission is to connect and support providers by working together to deliver the most effective and compassionate care. The Mountain West Region Accounting Team offers support to AZ, UT, NV, CO, NM, ID, and KS for revenue related matters. We work collaboratively with the individual finance teams to produce various financial reports.
Positions in this function is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of assigned journal entries and reconciliations. Maintains assigned subsidiary ledgers and provides accounting support to our department.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to think outside the box and while looking for ways to improve processes and help the business. Candidate should be organized, detail oriented, and responsible.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares recurring, non-recurring and adjusting journal entries in accordance with GAAP compliance
- Maintains spreadsheets for account analysis, reports, and other schedules of general ledger accounts
- Informs Supervisor of discrepancies and other transactions of an unusual nature requiring special or immediate action
- Meets tight deadlines for monthly financial statements
- Performs special projects
- May prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
- Assists with other accounting-related duties as needed

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- 1 years of accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Office products, specifically Excel
- Proven great communication skills, oral and written
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or Public Accounting experience
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials
- Healthcare experience
