The Pharmacist will review, prepare, and dispense specialty infusion drugs for patients and support initiatives based on patient and business needs as directed by the Director of Pharmacy. The Pharmacist in this role will play a critical part of patient care from a drug preparation perspective.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret provider prescription and create order, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer system, verifies whether order/drug is reimbursable/ covered
- Reviews medication orders and evaluates appropriateness and completeness of orders with consideration given to the special needs and behaviors of the specific age group served
- Prepare and dispense specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, IV, enteral and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures
- Complete all necessary training to comply with USP 797, and USP 800
- Develops and implements operational requirements and process workflows for strategic programs
- Employ best practices when preparing injections, IV chemo infusion, intraocular, urology, transplant, and intrathecal chemotherapy treatments
- Formulate and ensure adherence with policies, operating, procedures and goals in compliance with internal and external governing bodies
- Collaborate to develop and maintain a framework for clinical quality and patient safety standards and protocols
- Perform accurate admixtures based on prescriptions; maintained compliance with regulations, verified proper formulas, and calculated doses
- Ensure stability of mixed medication using various Clinical references and medical journals
- Support clinical programs to reduce total cost of care, improve affordability and quality as directed by the Director of Pharmacy
- Participates in infusion clinic program development and expansion
- Collaborates with functionally diverse teams to achieve desired end-results and develop innovative solutions for complex problems.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an ACPE accredited College/School of Pharmacy Program with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent experience
- Pharmacist Licensure in the State of New York
- 2 years of experience compounding sterile product, including hazardous drugs
- Experience with maintaining USP 797 and 800 standards
- Proven ability to fill medication orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools and other technical applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Oncology
- Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to make clinical interventions
New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $42.31 to $83.27 per hour.
