Are you a manager and subject matter expertise in project management, scope definition, risk identification, methodology and resource allocation or facilitation? Lead and mentor a team on strategic initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups as a Manager of Project Management to coordinate and complete projects, define performance and results and manage vendors and service providers. Managers will determine time frames, funding needs, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, allotment of resources to various phases of projects and lead others in the organization to make meaningful process improvements. Developing business plans and cost benefit analysis for assessment by Regional/Senior Leadership is required. You'll investigate non-standard requests and problems, makes presentations to senior leadership, ensure project documentation is accurate and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Pertinent data and facts will be reviewed to identify and solve issues and mitigate risks, prioritize your work load and work on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Positions in this funciton is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas. Typically, employees in this function are working towards or have achieved certification in project management. Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques. Makes presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are completed on time and in scope. May manage vendor and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations. Incumbents maybe part of a project management office (PMO) in their business. Project Management roles specific to a particular functional area should be assigned to that family where appropriate (e.g. IT Project Managers should be placed in the IT Family). *Employees in jobs labeled with ‘SCA’ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

• Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff
• Impact of work is most often at the operational or local business unit or market level

Employees in this position should have achieved certification in project management and be managing employees who are working toward or have achieved certification in project management.

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field and/or equivalent education and experience
• Actively pursuing PMP Certification
• 5 years of project management experience
• 5 years experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions.
• 3 years of supervisory experience
• Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
• PMP Certification preferred.
• Healthcare experience
• Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
