This is an exciting role within the rapidly growing Optum HouseCalls division within UnitedHealth Group. HouseCalls is a service offered by Optum to members of Medicare Advantage plans, wherein a Nurse Practitioner visits the member’s home once a year to conduct a thorough medical health assessment on the member. This is a highly sought-after service in the Medicare market with positive clinical benefits for our members and the company.

This is an opportunity that allows the Principal Analyst to: work with stake holders, dig into their operational processes, understand the surrounding analytical needs and develop the analytics to support the team both strategically and operationally. The incumbent will be multifaceted with a strong analytical business process and technical background. This role will have a strong hands-on component.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead data analysis projects for HouseCalls from initial requirement gathering to final analysis delivery
• Consult with business partners to understand their analytical needs and create actionable reporting/analytics; digging into business processes and data as needed, to ensure a full understanding of results is understood
• Manage large amount of data and create advanced datasets for reporting/analytics purposes using SQL Server/SAS/Python
• Create complex, actionable, advanced prototype dashboards using Excel and BI Tools like Domo/Power BI/Tableau
• Serve as SME/ Lead and set strategic direction concerning metrics and fields needed for our self-service environment

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Management, Mathematics, or other related degree) or equivalent professional experience
• 7 years of experience consulting with business stakeholders and senior leaders determining their analytics needs and goals
• 7 years of experience working with business stakeholders and hands on experience creating reporting and analysis
• 7 years of experience SQL, SAS, PYTHON, R programming and/ or data manipulation
• Advanced data presentation skills by creating dashboards using BI tools like Domo, Power BI and/or Tableau
• Advanced Excel skills including but not limited to VBA and Functions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree (Statistics, Data Science, Business Intelligence) or higher
• Experience flexing across a wide variety of data science (analysis to predictive)
• Experience with Airflow a plus
• Proven excellent project management skills
