The Senior Manager Security Operations is a member of UnitedHealth Group's (UHG) Corporate Security team. The Corporate Security group is responsible for the Workplace Security Program that ensures the protection of the company’s global workforce and physical assets through security risk management platforms. The Senior Manager, U.S. Operations, will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and guidance while managing key, physical security related, strategic business segment relationships with Data Centers, regarding implementation of innovative, strategic security initiatives; aggregation of business requests surrounding security enhancements; security resource management; physical security assessment interpretation; implementation of innovative security solutions to include proactive monitoring, response plans for critical facility alarms and various risk mitigation initiatives.
Candidates need to have experience in the management of physical security programs; facilities protection; security design standards and implementation; developing response plans to security incidents; and analysis of security infrastructure. Candidates will be required to navigate enterprise divisions for effective mitigation of complex security matters at critical facilities including data center facilities and business headquarters locations. This role will also focus on implementing key, innovative technology standards, in collaboration with Corporate Security Technology colleagues and various internal business partners. The candidate will need to build and maintain solid internal partnerships with key stakeholders to include Information Technology, Data Center management, Communications, Health & Safety, Human Capital/Employee Relations, LCRA (Compliance, Employment Law, and Litigation), Real Estate Services and other various business segment managers.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Accountable for managing strategic relationships with critical facility business segments while advancing Corporate Security programs and initiatives
- Responsible for conveying the overall security strategy and ensuring project execution of security technology, risk mitigation and security infrastructure solutions at various global business facilities
- Manage the operational component of the contract security guard program at Data Centers sites in collaboration with Sr. Director, Global Security Operations
- Contribute to the management of security related enhancement projects in collaboration with various Corporate Security colleagues, external consultants, and project management teams
- Ensure site-level application of enterprise security policies, standards, and specifications
- Contribute to the preparation of performance reports through collection, analysis, and data summarization trends
- Coordinate alarm monitoring and response for locations in conjunction with Global Security Operations Center colleagues and leadership
- Build solid relationships with key internal stakeholders to include critical facility leadership; Data Center management; Communications, IT, Health & Safety, Human Capital/Employee Relations, LCRA (Compliance, Employment Law, and Litigation), Real Estate Services, and business segment managers

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, IT, Engineering, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or equivalent experience,
- 5 years of relevant security experience in the private and/or public sector to include security risk management, security operations, law enforcement and/or military OR operational experience within a data center facility
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in order to effectively plan for and implement physical security enhancements and other workplace security projects and initiatives
- Demonstrated knowledge in development and refinement of a security operations program
- Effective using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge in reporting and metrics development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of hire
- Experience developing security design standards and operational requirements to mitigate security risks within a global organization
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Ability to perform under high pressure and emotional situations
- Effectively communicate project and key deliverable status updates to U.S. Global Operations and DCF leadership
- Proven ability to provide discretion while working with sensitive business situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others.
