Summary
Surest is actively seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced BI developer to build and support the analytics pipeline for Surest. These analytics are to be developed in Looker using cloud stored data and deployed to Surest teams. The role will involve combination of medical and pharmacy claims, provider, engagement and clinical quality analytics. Surest is looking for a developer who can work with other team members to understand business requirements to develop and execute analytic output that will support strategic decisions. Primary Responsibilities:
Build dashboards leveraging best practice data visualization methods in Looker
Build data systems and pipelines that feed Looker for data analysis
Prepare data for downstream visualization
Build algorithms and prototypes
Combine raw information from different sources increasing downstream efficiency
Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
Develop analytical tools and programs in Looker/Excel/Power BI
Collaborate with data scientists and architects on projects
Analyze and interpret various forms of utilization and healthcare data to identify potential areas for medical cost improvements via products, services, and other market trends including ROI projections
Review Surest analytic reports to ensure consistency across departments, as applicable
Communicate information openly and in an articulate and professional manner
Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external customers on healthcare cost and quality topics
Accountable for timely preparation and delivery of all health analytic deliverables, including ad hoc consultative and analytic support as defined by the customer

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Public Health, Business Analytics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline
4 years of experience writing queries with SQL
2 years BI tool development experience focusing on new coding/development and processing efficiency improvements
Knowledge of the healthcare and health insurance sectors with HIPAA requirements
Exposure to formal software development methodologies such as Agile Methodologies (XP, Scrum), etc
Demonstrated expertise troubleshooting complex data questions
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into deployed analyses
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated detailed experience with healthcare analytics from at least one of these data sectors (Pharmacy, Claims, Provider, Clinical)
Experience developing within Looker Platform
Experience with JIRA for an SDLC tool
Soft Skill Requirements:
Ability to work well with other teams to resolve issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
