This newly created role will provide financial performance analytics and insights for Optum’s client partnerships. These insights will include in-depth analysis on key client performance indicators and the ability to share findings both internally and externally. The success in this role will be dependent on an ability to successfully navigate and influence change across a matrixed environment, quickly adapt to changing priorities, and an ability to clearly articulate business issues with recommended solutions - in the context of a fast paced and high-growth environment that has a long-term commitment to making health care better for everyone. The Sr. Financial Consultant will be part of the Client Analytics Team as part of the broader Revenue Analytics group of Optum Insight.

Primary Responsibilities:
Driving analysis on client to better strengthen the partnership and drive immediate financial benefit
Participation in partnership solutions that meet both internal and external requirements
Development of client reporting package for both internal and external review
Effectively partnering and collaborating with cross-functional teams that include Finance, Product, Operations, Legal and other internal customers
Preparing financial analysis and presenting partnership, risks, and recommendations to senior management
Assembling disparate operational and financial data for analysis and to drive fact-based decision-making
Building, maintaining, and enhancing revenue cycle monitoring
Developing accurate cash forecasting models to support decisions by partnering with finance and operational owners
Identifying and driving process improvements that accelerate cash benefit, enhance internal insights, and improve client performance
Reviewing customer, A/R, cash collections, liquidity, and other operational benchmarks to ensure optimal performance
Provide broad financial support amongst the account leadership team to drive improved RCM opportunities through strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
4 years of analytic experience in pricing, costing and / or data analytics
Experience working collaboratively and influencing others within a matrix organization
Intermediate Proficiency in MS Excel skills, including significant financial modeling experience (pivot tables, v-lookups, large data sets)
Proven excellent written communication skills and the ability to verbally communicate ideas clearly & confidently
Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision, prioritize work and be a self-starter
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing or Business
Healthcare and / or Revenue Cycle Management experience
Experience working and interacting with executive leadership
Proficiency using PowerPoint to create presentations
