Positions in this job function require specific education/certification/licensure specific to their job. Moderate work experience within own function. Some work is completed without established procedures. Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment
- Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and assist in X-Rays
- Draw injections and collect specimens
- Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software
- Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures
- Basic tasks are completed without review by others

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to commute to the office location(s)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Surgical Tech Certificate
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA)
- CPR certification
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant or CST
- EMR / EHR experience
- Experience with NextGen medical record software
- Experience with medical back office duties including vitals, phlebotomy, and injections
