We are looking for a Controller to join UnitedMasters! Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.
What You'll Do
The Controller will lead accounting, financial reporting, simplification, treasury, commercial finance and business controls across the organization. This position reports to the CFO and plays a key leadership role in the finance organization and within the company.
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting activities for Brooklyn and offshore-based team
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Leading audit strategy and execution for company financial statements and 401(k)
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process including cash forecasting, stock based compensation planning, and capital allocation
- Administration of the organizations ERP system (NetSuite) and T&E system (Navan) to support next scale, long range plan initiatives and international expansion
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems and recommending improvements to achieve best in class risk management
- Support development and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Solid communication, analytical and management skills
- Demonstrated experience with managing core finance process including: closing, financial reporting, working capital, cash & balance sheet efficiency, account reconciliation, flux analysis
- Comfortable with technology and agility to improve processes
- Passionate about working smarter
- Team player who is committed to developing and improving the team
- Ability to communicate across functions internally and externally
- NetSuite experience a plus
Minimum Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent international certification or academy company experience)
- 3 years minimum in a top accounting firm or "academy company" finance program
- 7 years of core finance experience in audit, entertainment, music or corporate finance
- Experience managing and influencing a nimble accounting team

Salary Hiring Range: $175,000 - $225,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)
Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
The salary range above is for the NY/CA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
