Coordinates, conducts and performs all Client Service operations including call backs for missed tests, add on tests, transcribing outpatient orders in EMR, coordination with Ambulatory Informaticist regarding provider preference lists, faxing results, and maintenance and filing of PKUs/Neonatal screening. Perform duties under the direct supervision of the Manager, Laboratory Logistics, and Outreach. Assists all members of the Laboratory Team at Rock Island, Moline and Bettendorf.

Responsibilities
Customer/Client Services * Interact professionally over the phone and in person with patients, health care staff, physicians, and the general public regarding laboratory services, including call backs and rescheduling for missed laboratory tests. * Verbalize appropriately the need for recollection of laboratory specimens and add on tests * Communicates to patients and staff of laboratory values and review of "read back values" to ensure that values (Critical Values) are exactly communicated and understood * Educates patients and answers questions regarding laboratory practices and procedures * Transcribes outpatient orders in electronic medical records (EMR)

Basic UPH Performance Criteria * Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. * Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. * Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. * Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. * Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. * Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED. Preferred: Phlebotomy certification
Experience:
Office Experience or Customer Service Experience. Preferred: Medical Office Experience, Phlebotomy Experience, Laboratory Specimen Processing, Experience with computers, Electronic Medical Records
