Overview:
This position performs essential Supply Chain functions. Primary focus is on replenishing and ordering supplies for all departments within Jones Regional Medical Center. Uses the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to properly order supplies, print labels, maintain all supply closets, replenish specialty carts and respond to stat requests. As a member of the Supply Chain team the position will also include receiving tasks within the ERP system. This includes administrative tasks related to inspection, receiving, and distribution of inbound and outbound shipments. The position is responsible for communicating discrepancies in shipments with the Central Procurement department. The position is responsible for processing returns in conjunction with the Buyer. The position assists with Inventory Control functions to receipts for inventory items.

Responsibilities:

Ordering and PAR Maintenance

  • Responsible for accurate and timely PAR counts
  • Creates accurate counts and reports irregularities – i.e. increased or decreased usage.
  • Identifies and implements PAR efficiencies – i.e. quantities, organization, additions, deletions
  • Documents supply requests and communicates to Inventory Control/Management

Receiving

  • Responsible for efficient and timely distribution of shipments
  • Inspects packages for damages
  • Verifies product shipment to packing slip
  • Appropriately and accurately documents receipt of product in Lawson ERP system
  • Identifies and communicates with Central Procurement discrepancies in shipments
  • Files packing slips and receiving records
  • Completes delivery of packages to correct location per Purchase Order
  • Process vendor returns in the ERP system and for the outbound freight carrier to process

Inventory

  • Checks in and puts away inventory
  • Responsible for accurately documenting credit items back into inventory
  • Uses system resources to locate products on PARs
  • Identifies Out OF Stock (OOS) items to the attention of Inventory Control / Management

  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Experience:


Previous experience in distribution clerk position preferred, but not required


2 years in healthcare experience
