Responsibilities
Administration of oxygen, respiratory medicines, bronchial hygiene, and collection of blood for arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis for all ages.
Maintenance of invasive and non-invasive ventilators. Assists in airway management for all ages
Assistance with bronchoscopy and specimens from procedure.
Performing EKG's and bedside monitoring of patients vital signs, and assessment of the respiratory system for all ages.
Ability to do pulmonary function testing with proper training.
Responds to all emergency Codes-Blue/Pink, MET, STEMI Trauma, and Chill.
Must travel to patients on various nursing units.
Emergent, urgent or CPR situation intubation and airway management with initial and ongoing competency, overseen by anesthesia. Education of students, certified respiratory therapist and nursing on respiratory related matters.
Qualifications
Associates degree in respiratory therapy.
1 year experience preferred.
Licensed in the state of Iowa as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with the NBRC at time of hire. Maintains Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with the NBRC preferred.
Basic computer skills, read, writes, comprehends and speaks English.
