Employee Development
- Supervise and monitor the center classrooms and staff on an ongoing basis. Observe, monitor and coach in the following areas: appropriate developmental practices, lesson plans, daily programs, portfolios, center and organization’s program goals, standards and policies, licensing regulations and accreditation criteria, and teamwork. Evaluate teacher and teacher assistant’s job skills and knowledge.
- Provide orientation and training for new and existing staff. Provide opportunities for continuing education and staff development.
- Act as a resource person for center staff in areas of program, child related matters, appropriate practices, guidance, and discipline of children, meeting special needs, etc.
- Support marketing of the Child Care Center and recruitment of new staff.
- Conduct interviews in collaboration with the Director.
- Manage social media for the childcare center.
Program Management
- Assist the director in monitoring child/staff ratios and staffing needs daily and overseeing the general operation of the center to ensure that quality childcare is being provided.
- Maintain necessary records for Department of Human Services licensing regulations and accreditation criteria.
- Manage and support payroll system.
- Manage childcare billing for the childcare center.
- Support and implement statewide quality initiatives (IQ4K).
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in early childhood, or related educational field
- Maintain Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting training, adult/infant/child CPR/First Aid training, universal precautions and infection disease control and minimal training requirements annually as required by Iowa Department of Human Services.
- Minimum of two years in an early childhood program.
- Demonstrates knowledge of early childhood children, practices, and programs.
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
- Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
Salary : $30,700 - $38,900
