Sheet Metal Fabricator

We are looking for an individual who is highly trainable. Experience a plus but not a must!

• Starting at $20.00 per hour
• Full time position 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday
• 6 paid holidays

Your duty as a Sheet Metal Fabricator at Univair Aircraft Corporation will be to manufacture parts to blueprint specification in an efficient and timely manner. At Univair we strive for quality in every part we make. If hired you will be trained by our Shop Foreman as well as our team of shop employees whose experience levels range from 1 to 20 plus years with the company.

Daily activities of the Sheet Metal Fabricator position:

• Cutting, bending, drilling and riveting metal.
• You will be responsible for making and maintaining tooling when necessary to complete projects.
• You will be asked to help maintain machines and tooling in your work area.
• Operate press brakes, band saws, grinders, nibblers, disc sanders, and metal cutting shears.
• While Univair provides many of the tools necessary for everyday work, you will be required to supply your own hand tools. (Basic tools such as screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, and measuring tools.)
• You will be expected to be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and also possess the ability to climb a ladder safely.
• You will report to the Shop Foreman.

Qualifications required for the position:

• High attention to detail.
• Strong desire to work with your hands and a basic knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Possess basic math skills and the ability to read and write in English.
• Good communication skills are a must.
• Able to stand for 8 hour shifts 5 days per week.
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING.
• Must be a US citizen or proof of legal right to work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
