The ChemCare Environmental Specialist role provides the safety, regulatory and compliance safeguard for the management of customer waste materials for the ChemCare (Environmental Services) line of business.
This role requires that the person have training and knowledge of waste regulations.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Work with and provides support to our sales representatives through lead generation, joint calls and in the development of their individual territory sales strategy.
Ensure Univar Solutions can safely manage waste streams for our customers and internal branches, and within the regulations of EPA, State, EPS, DOT, and Univar Solutions compliance and safety policies.
Responsible for entering/ maintaining/ updating all waste stream specific data inside the Profiling Portal.
Work with the selected vendor's regulatory/approvals department to ensure they have all the required information needed to evaluate the waste stream and ensure they are able to safely, properly manage the waste stream. Integral in the selection of the vendor utilized to ultimately recycle, treat or dispose of each waste stream that is led by Univar Solutions.
Evaluate each waste stream and resolve most appropriate treatment/ recycling technology based upon the EPA Hierarchy or preferred treatment methods, and then select the vendor that can provide the most efficient and economical option.
Provide technical/regulatory/ compliance expertise for our customers, sellers, Supply Chain and OTC.
Responsible for entering/ maintaining/ updating all waste stream specific data inside the Waste Management Module within SAP.
Perform other related duties as the need arises or requested.
WHAT YOULL NEED:
4 year Degree (Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or Biology Degree preferred), or equivalent work experience.
Successful track record working in the environmental services field / waste management field is preferred.
Microsoft Suite, SAP, Salesforce experience preferred.
CHMM / CHMP Certification preferred.
Training and knowledge of waste regulations (RCRA, DOT, EPA, etc.) preferred.
Customer Service focus. Experience dealing with internal and external customers, and partners at various levels of the organization.
