Job Summary We are looking for a collaborative and experienced technician to join our manufacturing team at Adesis. The successful candidate will perform custom organic synthesis to make commercial compounds.
Key Responsibilities Functional Competencies
Purify and isolate synthesized molecules under the direction of Area Management up to 100 L scale using established procedures
Packages, weighs, samples, and labels finished and intermediate products following applicable procedures
Assemble and clean reaction glassware as needed
Assist in the maintenance of equipment, such as reactors and large rotary evaporators
Maintains a chemistry synthesis notebook(s), batch record(s), and/or raw material list(s)
Maintains current on all training curricula (Safety, Quality, Chemistry, and Administrative)
Assists in training / development of new team members, including updating relevant SOPs and training documents
Assists with troubleshooting efforts with guidance Chemists / Leads as needed
Facilitates start up and shut down activities
Performs in-process analysis of batches / experiments, as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED required
2- 5 years’ experience in chemical process manufacturing experience. Successful completion of a formal operator / technician certification program at a technical school or an Associate degree in a related field may (in part) be used in lieu of on the job experience
Previous experience in an ISO/GMP environment a plus
Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions and procedures, and effectively communicate in both verbal and written formats to managers and co-workers
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Must have basic computer skills (MS Office Suite)
Must be action oriented and able to work in a team environment
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, for truck, and conveyors) are used when possible but use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury
