Clarion Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting for a Cook. The Cook must have the ability to prepare or direct food preparation for regular or special diets using specified recipes and dietary order, schedules preparation of food to maintain nutritional value, quality, and appearance, ensures that enough food is prepared for each meal, checks on all equipment for safety and operation at the beginning of each shift, maintain sanitary standards of Dietary department during shift, operates all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensures safety precautions are followed with no sharps in patient accessible areas and works cooperatively with nursing staff to ensure patient safety in the dining room.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma/ GED preferred, Successful completion of Serve Safe class with certification.
Experience: Two years of experience as a high volume cook in commercial or institutional setting preferred
License/ Certifications: ServSafe
Knowledge / Skills: Food preparation, use of equipment, dietary safety and sanitary procedures.
Handle with Care: Yes * will train upon hire
BLS/HeartSaver CPR: Yes * will train upon hire
General Working Environment: Hospital setting. Staff working in this position may be required to intervene and assist with aggressive patients. Works in a well-lighted and ventilated setting, is subject to frequent interruptions, and is involved with the patients and personnel throughout designated units under varying conditions and circumstances. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to HIV and Hepatitis B Viruses.
Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to walk and stand for long periods. Able to participate in physical intervention. The Physical Requirements described herein are representative of those, which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job.
