Who We Are Seeking…
Universal Security is seeking to hire reliable and professional off-duty police officers/corrections officers. Off-duty police officers/corrections officers will be responsible for utilizing their police/law enforcement experience and tactics to ensure the security and safety of our client’s, customers, and personnel. As an off- duty police officer, you will be informed of all site-specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service. Universal Security’s Off-Duty police officers are expected to represent a security force, but an approachable one to help clients, staff, and visitors feel safe while maintaining a positive attitude and environment.
Job Summary & Responsibilities:
- Prevent crime, ensure policies are being followed, and protect the general welfare of personnel, clients, and visitors.
- During an emergency, an officer can act as the first line of response. These professionals can make sure that local law enforcement and staff are informed as quickly as possible about potential risk or developing emergency.
- Identify and report any safety concerns.
- Maintain communication with personnel, staff, and management to ensure exceptional security service.
- Document all activities and findings
- Ability to react appropriately in emergency/crisis situations.
- Must be customer service-oriented and professional at all times.
- Remain alert for all possible threats, while avoiding distractions
- Must be able to write clear and accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Perform any additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- High school graduate (or equivalent)
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Valid FOID card
- Copy of Police Id and credentials (if applicable)
- Excellent moral character
- Good mental and physical condition
- Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner
- Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
· Strong work ethic, punctuality, professionalism, and exceptional customer service are required.
- Evenings and Weekend Availability
Additional Qualifications:
- Must have ability to maintain composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
- Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., cell phone).
- Must have reliable transportation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
