USC is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or RN Registered Nurse to assume responsibility and accountability for the Course Instructor to facilitate the education, certification, and success of our future Certified Nursing Assistants Come join our team today!
Responsibilities
CNA instructor must teach students what warning signs to look for in patients that may give clues to common medical conditions. An instructor may also provide basic first aid training and teach students how to take vitals, including how to take blood pressure and temperature. Knowledge of proper lifting procedures may also be part of coursework. Part of a CNA instructor’s job is shaping a curriculum for students based on guidelines identified by certification requirements established by the state that students wish to be certified in. Additional duties assigned to students may include keeping patient records and basic care duties including bathing, cleaning and hygiene.
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License in the state in which the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) practices.
- Current Health Certificate
- Current BLS card.
- Two year prior Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience
- A CNA instructor must be a licensed RN or LPN with at least two years of the required nursing experience in the provision of long-term care facility services in a nursing facility or skilled nursing facility to practice.
- A CNA instructor is required to have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising Nursing Assistants.

Many courses are short term, and high turnover may be common. Classes are available regularly. A flexible attitude and the ability to work a dynamic schedule may help someone interested in becoming a CNA instructor.
