Overview

The Video Production Specialist is a performance-driven professional who drives engagement that leads to improved clickthrough rates and conversion by filming, editing, and publishing dynamic video content. You’ll work with the Creative, Content Strategy, and Social Media teams to produce videos for various social media platforms (such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram) and broadcast television.

 

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who captures authentic documentary-style filmmaking, and can edit compelling content at various lengths utilizing in-app platforms and editing software. Additionally, experience in creating and performing in TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels is preferred and we would love to see a portfolio of your most creative work!

Responsibilities

  • Shoot, produce, and publish high-quality TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, streaming video, and broadcast television that drives engagement, improves clickthrough rates, and conversion for organic and paid content
  • Create motion graphics, animation, and gifs that drives engagement
  • Perform in TikTok and/or YouTube videos
  • Work with the Creative Director and Video Production Manager to plan, develop, and execute the shooting and production of videos that drive results for UTI and increase awareness of the skilled trades
  • Manage camera operation, lighting, and sound, as well as all talent direction on location and on-site
  • Manage outside video/photography vendor/partners and oversee productions as necessary
  • Contribute to the strategic development of initiatives that involve video production, motion graphics, and animation
  • Edit video for a variety of platforms at a variety of lengths (including mixing sound)
  • Scout locations for video and still photography shoots
  • Manage digital asset management for video archival
  • Presenting original concepts
  • Advise on the purchase of equipment, hardware, and software
  • Help manage video budget and agency relationships to create strategic content that boosts enrollment while maintaining UTI’s brand standards
  • Help train creative staff on video and effects skills to grow the department’s capabilities
  • Maintain consistency of the brand and adhere to brand standards with all content
  • Maintain photo and video equipment (camera, mics, lighting, sound, editing board, backdrops, etc.)
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends in video production and storytelling
  • Coordinate field production, including audio, camera, lighting, and working collaboratively with talent
  • Audit video assets storage platform and UTI production equipment to innovate and grow the position
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of experience in video production and editing (preferably for a YouTube channel, TikTok account, or at an advertising agency) required.
  • Experienced marketer with shooting, producing, and publishing high-quality vertical videos and 16:9 videos.
  • Experience in the Education and/or Skilled Trades industry is a plus.

 

Skills

  • Exceptional editing ability including: video, effects, coloring and sound
  • Exceptional knowledge of video storytelling
  • Ability to perform as talent in TikTok and/or YouTube videos
  • Strong working knowledge on proper use of all video equipment (incluing microphones and lights)
  • Optimize productions for remote/virtual environments
  • Storyboarding experience a plus
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work on tight deadlines
  • Pitch ideas in a compelling manner
  • Ability to direct people in a bold yet kind manner
  • Strong understanding of lighting techniques
  • Ability to shoot and edit in a documentary style
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where things can change quickly
  • Driven to work autonomously

 

Abilities

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds 25% or less of the workday. Occassionally, up to 50 pounds 5% of workday.
  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 25% or less of the workday.
  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Will require about 20% of overnight travel.

 

Work Environment

  • Work is primarly performed indoors in a climate controlled environment. However, occassional on location work or outdoor work is required.
  • Regular business hours, occasional overtime.
  • This position is designated as Fully Remote.
