Who are we? UTS provides transportation for students, elderly, developmentally disabled clients, and clients of all age range to school, work, doctor’s appointments, etc. We primarily service the City of Cincinnati, Warren County, Fairfield, Middletown, Hamilton, Westchester, and Dayton, OH areas.
What you're responsible for?
As a dispatcher you are responsible for directing and monitoring daily assignments, scheduling drivers to clients and ensuring the job is completed on time, assisting drivers with directions, coordinating vehicle service and mechanical repairs with the maintenance supervisor, notifying the call center and management of any situation that may disrupt service and handles driver concerns.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates all relevant details of driving assignments to drivers to ensure proper execution.
- Maintains radio contact with all drivers to relay relevant information regarding route changes, road conditions, or other pertinent info.
- Utilizes UTS software and GPS technology to notify drivers of route changes and instructions in a timely manner.
- Communicates wait times to the drivers for clients that are not available at the designated pick-up time.
- Contacts clients to inform them that the driver is waiting for pick-up.
- Receives and reconciles logs, manifests, and daily trip inspections.
- Notifies the Program Manager, Scheduling Manager, and Team Leader of any scheduling issues.
- Forwards all written instructions and information to the appropriate driver and Program Manager.
- Keeps a record of all written communications on file.
- Maintains and updates current phone lists with client and route destination information.
- Maintains incident/procedure files to ensure a quick and thorough response to accidents or emergencies.
- Dispatches “will call” services in an expedient and concise manner.
- Notates changes on the route schedule and daily logs and sends them to Scheduling.
- Assigns substitute drivers as needed to mitigate transportation delays.
- Escalates unresolved issues to management as appropriate.
- Reroutes and reschedules any additional trips as required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong knowledge of the greater Cincinnati area
- Dispatch and GPS software knowledge is a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage high call volume
