Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the Principal Informatics Pharmacist position is to assure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the Pharmacy System Database. Coordinates the implementation and testing efforts related to pharmacy information systems, such as, EPIC modules. Provides support and direction to pharmacy staff, monitors pharmacy system activity and assists and trains personnel in the utilization of the system. Provides highly qualified consultative expertise in the delivery of application-level solutions for the Pharmacy Department and troubleshoots and monitors issues that arise.

Qualifications

Registered Pharmacist in the State of NJ, with a minimum of three (3) years hospital Pharmacist experience, including work with Informatics and/or IST functions. Strong computer and analytical/analysis skills. Requires strong computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft based office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to present complex systems and solutions in an understandable manner. Requires knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and procedures, clinical and automation systems. Requires analytical skills to evaluate IT/IS based systems and trouble shoot problems with real time solutions. Requires strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with the Hospital staff in making recommendations, assisting in resolving problems concerning IT & IS based systems.
