Description
- Provides direct patient care and clerical support to the unit under the direction of the RN.
- Assists patients with ADLs including ambulating, transferring, bathing, feeding, grooming, turning and positioning, and oral care, conducts chart audits as directed by the nurse manager.
- Assists with data collection and reporting.
- Assists with billing functions as needed, maintains the patient record in written and or electronic format, facilitates communication and efficient unit operations, orders clerical supplies for the department.
- Prior clinical and or secretarial experience preferred.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and adjust to varying workloads required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Experience in a large teaching hospital preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Equivalent / GED
- STNA certification required.
- BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during UH Orientation
