Job Description:
Plans, supervises, and evaluates patient care and nursing personnel of a clinical area on a 24-hour basis. Coordinates duties for all shifts to accomplish continuity of safe quality patient care. Monitors outcome measures and shares variances with Associates for continuous process improvement in a clinical area. Responsible for supervision of the Hospital as requested by Chief Nursing Officer.
Provides clinical patient care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Utilizes knowledge of professional nursing practice in providing age-appropriate care based on scientific principles, nursing standards of practice, and standards of patient care for patient populations.

Required Experience:
A. Work Experience
Five years of lead/supervisory/management experience required. Experience preferably in a clinical setting.
B. License/Registration/Certification
1. Current Texas or compact RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
2. Current CPR and training program.
3. Current ACLS and PALS obtained within 6 months of being in the position.
4. Completion of the following courses within 1 year of being in the position:
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advance Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
5. Attainment of the Nurse Executive Leadership certification or one of the following nursing certification in specialty area highly preferred:
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN)
- Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN)
C. Education and Training
1. Bachelor degree in Nursing required.
2. Meets unit-specific education requirements.
