Job Summary
The Coordinator - Student Group Services (C-SGS) is a full-time/part-time term position in the Student Services portfolio. The C - SGS supports the operations of Student Group Services (SGS), and is required to have a general academic and non-academic knowledge of the University of Alberta. SGS operates in close collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Students, as well as other Students' Union and University Units to support and encourage a vibrant student life climate on campus.
This position supports student group administration (including registration, supporting granting fund disbursement, and physical space allocation in the Students' Union Building) and general support for student group members and leaders. It requires a high level of collaboration with existing units within the Student Services units and across campus. This position has a strong focus on advising, administration, and project work.
This is a contract position with a start date of June 3, 2024, and an end date of April 30, 2025. This position works full-time until the end of August at 37.5 hours per week, and then part-time at 20 hours per week from September to April. There is one Spring coordinator position available, in addition to a Summer coordinator position; this other position will open for applications in June and have a start date of August 1st, 2024.

Supervision
Supervision Given
This position does not provide formal supervision to any other staff position. Informal support, including peer-to-peer coaching and troubleshooting to support front-line staff, is a part of daily activities. The C-SGS may supervise volunteers or student committees as needed.
Supervision Received
This position is supervised in their daily work activities by the Program Lead - Student Group Services and Engagement Lead - Student Group Services. The PL-SGS and EL-SGS provide coaching, support, basic Human Resources administration, and coordination with other services.
Working Considerations
This position performs work primarily in an office setting, with the bulk of the work being completed using a computer. This position regularly moves throughout the University campus to attend meetings. Programming requirements may necessitate the lifting, moving and setting up of items and materials of up to 50 lbs.
