We are currently seeking an Academic Advisor II who possesses an organized, self-motivated, and leadership mindset. Your responsibilities will encompass providing comprehensive academic advising services to pre-licensure nursing students enrolled in both bachelor's and master's degree programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with integrating and navigating the college and university culture.
  • Assist students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.
  • Advise students on matters ranging from developing academic plans to academic policy, major exploration, and student engagement opportunities.
  • Advise and assist students with exploring, preparing for, and applying to the College of Nursing majors.
  • Refer students to appropriate departmental offices, faculty, and support services for help with academic, personal, and career counseling, academic skills development, and financial aid support.
  • Provide general education advising, including transfer review and adjustment, and study abroad preapproval for all College of Nursing undergraduates.
  • Using University systems including UAccess, Analytics, and Trellis, maintain student files, records, and advisor notes.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations and policies that impact students' educational path.
  • Attend monthly and bi-monthly meetings to stay up to date on policy and processes across campus and the College.
  • Assist with Transfer and Freshmen Orientation, including evaluating incoming students' credits.
  • Work with on-site faculty to find solutions for student issues.
  • Mentor and assist with training new advisors.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of (3) years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience serving undergraduate and/or graduate students in academic advising or other student-related services at a higher education institution.
  • Previous experience in advising and/or student related services in a healthcare field.
