DescriptionThe Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian will be responsible for the evaluation/assessment and nutritional intervention/treatment of infants, pediatric, adolescents, and young adults in the subspecialty clinics, mainly focusing on the following patient populations: food allergy, heart transplant, neurology, and general pediatric nutrition. In this role the Dietitian will be responsible for direct patient/family interaction, instruction/education, counseling in the outpatient clinic setting, communication with other Team members, and appropriate written documentation of dietary assessment and treatment plans. The Dietitian will conduct and participate in clinical, educational, and teleconference activities and will maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and paneling, particularly CCS paneling.
Pay Range: $78976.28 - $104190.83 Annually
QualificationsRequired Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
a. Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics, have completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice dietetic internship program or Individualized Supervised Pathway, and be certified as a registered dietitian from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
b. Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a specific area of dietetics such as renal, pediatrics, digestive disease, liver, critical care or cardiology
c. Ability to assess patient calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on Standards of Nutrition Practice and the Guidelines for Nutrition Care
d. Ability to evaluate appropriateness of current nutrition regimen and make appropriate recommendations
e. Ability to apply principles of medical nutrition therapy, food service and sanitation
f. Ability to adapt procedures for patient education level, cultural practice, psycho-social and economic status.
g. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of nutrition care for varying age groups
h. Demonstrated ability to maintain medical charts and documentation
Preferred Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
a. Have knowledge and 2 years prior experience in clinical nutrition therapy with one year in Pediatrics
b. Paneling with California Children's Services
