Supporting University members with their pension, health benefits and overall transition into retirement.

Position Summary

Working as part of a team, the Benefits Analyst will be responsible for processing various types of benefits which may include survivor, insurance, and benefit and member record adjustments. Case research will be involved and may require contacting customers directly for required supporting documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in an analytical role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and the ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver results within tight timelines and fast turnarounds; able to proof and audit for accuracy. Experience in pension administration or benefits preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Willingness to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
• Exemplary verbal, written, change communication and presentation skills; able to work in a highly collaborative manner and formulate a clear point of view
• Able to work with strong personalities and different work styles while remaining calm, tactful, courteous and respectful under pressure
• Must have an innovative and positive self-directed attitude

Education

• High School diploma and 2 years of progressively responsible experience in job elated area

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement within the state of California. OR

This position is eligible for a hybrid/remote work arrangement within the state of California. The selected candidate must reside within the state of California, or be willing to relocate, and will be required to report to work in person in Oakland, CA on a regular schedule.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the salary grade for a position.
