Applies acquired skills and professional clinical application concepts for small to medium-sized projects of moderate scope. Operates independently within the defined scope of responsibilities.

Candidate will be responsible for providing Tier 1 support for a suite of Imaging IT applications, including:
* Desktop support, Workflow Orchestrator (WFO)
* Imaging IT Diagnostic and Clinical Viewers
* Vendor Neutral Archive with Enterprise Imaging integrations
* Dictation Systems
* Radiation Dose Management Systems
* DICOM Router
* Other imaging IT AI applications as directed by the manager and business needs.

The candidate will be responsible for working with departments throughout the UCSF enterprise to perform work/dataflow discovery, configure, test, and deploy imaging acquisition and image exchange workflows.

Maintaining a good partnership with departments throughout the medical center is an important aspect of providing an excellent standard of patient care. The incumbent is required to meet with operational partners, develop Enterprise Imaging solution strategies, and present options to leadership for Radiology Workstations.

Good experience in DICOM, HL7, FHIR, IOCM, and other Imaging IT integrations and workflows is highly preferred. In addition, the candidate will be a part of the Imaging IT Team ITIL Service Management, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and change management processes.

Successful candidates should thrive in a dynamic environment, deal well with conflict, respond quickly to system outages or incidents, and manage multiple stakeholder requests daily.

BCH Oakland responsibilities include Imaging IT Application support, providing onsite and remote rounding to support Imaging areas and physician desktop needs, and supporting Imaging IT standards with BCH Oakland cross-functional areas.

The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to manage small projects (less than 100 effort hours) with a viable project delivery plan across other IT partners. Candidates must work with their peers and leadership in preserving the UCSF PRIDE culture. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Department Description

The UCSF Department of Radiology Imaging IT team architects, implements, and manages the computer systems and networks needed to support more than 700,000 imaging studies annually. The Imaging IT team manages a complex application portfolio and end-user support. The Imaging IT portfolio supports over 25 imaging applications and over 100 diagnostic workstations. The team collaborates with cross-functional departments daily to deploy various imaging IT projects and workflows. The team provides Monday -Friday 8 am to 5 pm support including evening and weekend call to support the Medical Center needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and / or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5 to 6 years experience working in at least one of the following areas: Desktop, network support, application management, or support desk.
  • Working knowledge of clinical systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Proven fluency and skills in relevant hardware, software, and / or database administration, including development, implementation, maintenance, user support, and system testing and evaluation. Build workstation packages and use MS tools like SCCM to deploy workstation builds to 200 workstations.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge in moderately complex system operations, documentation, and reporting, with the ability to assess system inadequacies, develop and run tests, evaluate performance, and implement new systems, releases, and upgrades.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems and develop multiple options for effective and timely resolution of issues and problems.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills to collaborate productively on a team and to provide training and support to clinical providers and staff.
  • Detail-oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey technical information to clinical users in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop, build, update, and validate Workstations (Laptop) Clinical Build
  • Detail oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, manage tasks and projects, organize competing priorities, and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise. Must be able to manage timelines and risks with manager and customer weeks in advance of issue date.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to convey complex information and to effectively train, support, and work productively with end users at all professional and technical levels throughout the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Imaging IT
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Licensure
  • Certified Imaging Informatic Professional (CIIP)
  • Working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with the ability to perform tests, and to analyze, and interpret relevant data.
  • Thorough knowledge of the operations of and related Clinical Imaging IT systems (PACS, VNA (Agfa), post processing systems (GE AW, TeraRecon), Hardware, etc.)and the complex concepts, principles, policies, methodologies, workflows, dataflows and best practices involved with managing, storing, and transferring medical images/data.
  • Strong understanding and be able to develop and document dataflow including IOCM and ILM. Must be able to use MS Visio, PowerPoint or other tools to deliver workflows.
  • Demonstrated self-directed and proactive approach to problem-resolution skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to quickly identify complex problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner. Must be able to develop and deliver dataflows and build without little support from but leverage team to review final build.
  • Ability to work with senior staff and managers in across departments, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, policy, performance, regulations, and industry trends and advances. Provide SIIM based strategies, etc.
  • Knowledge of security programs. Familiarity with DICOM communication language and transfer syntaxes, SOP classes, and compression types.
  • Background in Vendor Neutral Archive, Enterprise Viewers, Diagnostic Viewers, Worflow Orchestartors, Radiation Dose management solutions, DICOM Routers, post processing systems, and AI tools
