The Outreach Program Manager provides strategic direction and oversight of career outreach and programming for all non-academic departments at CU Boulder and supervises a team of student employees in Career Services.
This position has three primary areas of focus, each rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion. The first area is to oversee Career Services’ outreach strategy with a strong emphasis on the creation, maintenance, and inclusivity of online career education content and programming. This involves actively working to make resources accessible and relevant to students from a diverse set of backgrounds, including those historically underrepresented in career development initiatives.
The second primary focus is to cultivate strategic partnerships with non-academic units across the CU Boulder campus, promoting collaboration that fosters an inclusive environment for career development. These partnerships should prioritize the needs and experiences of all students, particularly those facing systemic barriers to accessing career opportunities. By embedding career development throughout the student experience, we aim to create an environment where every student feels supported and empowered to pursue their professional goals.
Supervising a hard-working student team is the third area of focus, with a specific emphasis on fostering inclusivity and engagement in career education and peer support initiatives for undergraduate students. This involves providing mentoring and leadership that ensures the team reflects the diverse perspectives and experiences of the student body, and that their efforts are inclusive and welcoming to all students.
In addition to these primary responsibilities, this position also entails providing individualized career advising to undergraduate and graduate students.
This position is a part of the Embedded Career Team in Career Services. The goal of the Embedded Career Team is to build strategic connections and relationships with key collaborators that include students, faculty, academic advisors and coaches, and staff both within each college or school and with non-academic partners.
