Job Summary:
A Laboratory Sciences Research Services Professional position is immediately available in Dr. Juan-Pablo Idrovo's laboratory in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus.
The research in our laboratory focuses on mediators of inflammation and cellular response in remote organs causing damage and multiorgan failure in the context of after trauma. The current projects aim to identify hepatocyte mechanisms that heighten resilience to acute stressors using in vitro and in vivo approaches combined with omics technology.
The PRA will report directly to the principal Investigator and be responsible for planning and executing experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Senior Research Staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Present data.
- Maintain knowledge of current scientific literature in the field.
- Perform administrative duties including laboratory purchasing and inventory list maintenance.
- Maintain cell cultures for in-vitro biochemical analysis and cell-based experiments.
- Mice colony maintenance.
- Perform nucleic acid isolation and quantification, cDNA preparation and qPCR assays, Protein quantification, and western blots.
- Perform chemokine and cytokine ELISAs. Assist senior lab staff with data analysis and statistics.
- Assist other PRAs with processing blood samples.
- Will help research residents execute wet bench experiments and data analysis.
- Perform other research-related duties as delegated by the PI or Senior Research Staff.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Photoshop.
- Experience with Prizm.

- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $40,280 - $51,236.
The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
