The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking a full time Technical Writer. This position will provide high-quality and timely scientific writing support to leadership, faculty and administrative personnel within the IC3; reporting directly to the IC3 co-Directors. This position is responsible for participating as a key contributor in document development ensuring all documents are written in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, policy, and instructions; development of templates including standard language to facilitate multiple submissions of similar documents; writing assigned components of documents; editing for grammar, readability, clarity, consistency, and conformance with any applicable requirements; management of the document development and delivery process.
The position must present a professional demeanor and attitude, maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion, and exercise independent and prudent judgment while performing responsibilities and tasks. This position requires contact with UF and UF Health leadership, faculty researchers and clinicians, staff, and others in the university community.
Essential Functions;
Senior Editor
This position is responsible for implementing all the phases of publications, from development to publishing for IC3 faculty, students and associated staff. The candidate will have a vital role in implementing policy and production of key documents for the IC3 center. The Senior Editor will be responsible for the critique, review and curating of written materials associated with the office. This position coordinates with leadership, faculty and staff the timely publication of research and other materials. This is to include editing, proofing reading, clarity and conformity. This position coordinates content for the center’s social media pages and websites and assists in the center’s annual programs, office newsletter, and manages the organization and accuracy of documents.
As Senior Editor, the candidate will be responsible for the development and curation of key grant components. The candidate will be responsible for document timeline development, editing, proofing, and submission assistance, working along side faculty and administration.
Technical Writer
The candidate that holds this position will be responsible for professionally communicating information through any medium that best facilitates the transfer and comprehension of information. The position requires originating and preparing content such as scripts, essays, articles and speeches for publication or performance. The position involves writing for a wide variety of online and print materials including research publications, communications with collaborators, website articles, social media posts, and more.
$44,700 - $58,100
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an associate's degree and two years of relevant experience.
