What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upholsterer position at University of Florida?
Manufacturers and installs curtains for department’s residential facilities; embroiders departmental staff uniform shirts.
Disassembles, repairs, and re-upholsters chairs, sofas, and couches; performs sewing, cushion filling, and stapling during re-upholster process; reupholsters vehicle seats and replaces headliners.
Performs sanding; applies stains/finish to wooden furniture parts.
Creates, manufacturers, and installs signs.
Uses computer daily to maintain a detailed description of all work duties/projects, manage supplies/materials, and record hours worked on the employee time record.
Maintains daily work area; operates UF vehicle(s).
$17.75 per hour
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience; appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Must have a valid FL driver's license.
Ability to use ladders. Ability to operate sewing machine and other upholstery related tools.
