Duties and Responsibilities:

- Under general supervision serves as support for the Office of Planning, Policy, and Assessment (OPPA).
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive assessment processes to ensure that the institution meets its educational goals and accreditation standards.
- Works collaboratively with all members of the College community to create and refine student learning and support area outcomes as well as methods to assess these outcomes.
- Designs, implements, and manages a variety of assessment tools and methods, including innovative techniques and culturally responsive practices, to evaluate student learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
- Oversees the assessment management software used by the college for assessment records and reporting. Serves as primary liaison with the vendor to provide timely resolution of technical issues and modifications for improvement of the assessment software.
- Develops and maintains an assessment calendar (including course and program review), ensuring timely collection, analysis, and reporting of data.
- Assists various stakeholders in analyzing assessment data at both the program-level and institutional-level as part of the program review process and to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Provides individual and group consultation and training workshops to faculty and staff on assessment practices, data interpretation, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Maintains and disseminates assessment resources and information via an accessible public webpage.
- Organize and lead the implementation of campus surveys as part of the broader campus-wide assessment efforts to gather comprehensive data for institutional improvement and strategic planning
- Assists in the collection of documentation to demonstrate the College meets accreditation standards.
- Responsible for coordinating the production of the college catalog.
- Serve as a representative on University of Hawaii system-wide assessment committees, contributing to the development and alignment of assessment practices across the system, sharing insights and feedback from the campus perspective, and ensuring the institution's assessment efforts are integrated with broader system-wide goals and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Educational Assessment, Evaluation, Higher Education, Educational Administration, Information Systems, Library Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, Research Methods or related field, and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for educational or program assessment, student or collegiate survey and analysis, administrative assessment, or information management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the areas of assessment, educational measurement, program review, and/or accreditation as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
- Proficient in the use of spreadsheets and presentation software.
- Experience with assessment methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural, social, and economic diversity of Hawai'i’s student population.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Educational Assessment, Evaluation, Higher Education, Educational Administration, Information Systems, Library Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, Research Methods, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Bright Space) and Assessment Management technology (e.g., Anthology).
- Experience with innovative assessment technologies and techniques, such as adaptive learning systems, digital badges, or competency-based assessments.
- Knowledge of culturally relevant evaluation and assessment practices in Hawai‘i.
- Active membership in relevant professional organizations, such as the American Educational Research Association (AERA) or the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education (AALHE).
- Demonstrated leadership in assessment initiatives at the institutional level.
