Duties and Responsibilities
Assists Project implementation under the direction of the Principal Investigator with duties including, but not limited to, the following:- Assist in the development of training materials for intern site visits
- Train interns to conduct site visits for the project
- Coordinate the project schedule (i.e., intern site visits, briefing and debriefing)
- Brief interns prior to site visits
- Compile data from the intern site visits
- Monitor and maintain the quality of intern data collection
- Support interns (as needed) in conjunction with their experiences during site visits
- Prepare and present reports on the progress of the project
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Full-time classified degree-seeking graduate student in good standing (3.0 GPA) at the University of Hawai‘i at M?noa.
- Interest in working with Hawai?i’s multiilngual populations and concerns related to language access and civil rights
- Demonstrated ability to carry out research
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Experience living in a country or a language community where English (or one's native language) is not spoken.
- Experience in an organizational and/or supervisory role (preferably both).
- Demonstrated ability to be highly reliable, and possessing an excellent work ethic and strong sense of professionalism Desirable Qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications- Full-time classified degree-seeking graduate student in good standing (3.5 GPA)
- Experience working with multilingual communities.
- Native or near-native proficiency in a language in addition to English
