Position Summary:
The Plant Science Department is seeking an internal tenured Plant Science faculty member with the rank of Associate or Full Professor to serve as Associate Department Head for Plant Sciences. The Associate Department Head will serve as the departmental contact for all Plant Science academic programs. The Associate Department Head will coordinate with CALS Academic Program office and will be responsible for student recruiting and retention (including but not limited to leadership in department, college and university recruiting events and undergraduate advising), undergraduate and graduate program evaluation and assessment, curriculum development, and other activities consistent with college and university goals for academic programs. The Associate Department Head will advise the department head on faculty evaluations and promotion and tenure processes specifically related to teaching and advising.
Minimum Qualifications:
Track record of teaching and advising as a tenure track faculty member within the Plant Sciences department
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with academic assessment, curriculum development and undergraduate recruitment.
