Retail & Concessions Supervisor

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Concession and Retail Manager, the Concession and Retail Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the management and operations of university-managed Retail & Concession facilities. This includes but is not limited to, concessions for events at the ASUI Kibbie Dome, ICCU Arena, retail sales, limited food service at the Joes Corner convenience store, and the Soda Spout. Responsibility includes ensuring compliance with all applicable food-handling requirements and procedures. The purpose of this position is to assist the Retail and Concessions Manager in daily and special event operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years working in high volume and fast-paced retail sales or food service including at least one year of supervisory duties that include:
- Supervising and training staff
- Implementing operating procedures
- Management of a point-of-sale system (e.g. Square)
- Duties of this position require successful candidates to be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess or be able to obtain within 3 months of hire:
- ServSafe certification.
- Food handling certifications.
- Valid drivers license and ability to meet the universitys driving requirements.
- Ability to work irregular hours and long shifts as needed.
- Ability to work a nonstandard schedule which includes weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in supervision or management of a food service establishment.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and current marketing trends.
- Experience working in large multi-use facilities, arenas, stadiums, etc.
- Ability to self-direct during high-volume events.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, and/or otherwise move materials up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to move about and between venues for extended periods of time up to a full day of work.
