Position Summary
The position is responsible for activities that are associated with supervising valet parking and liaison staff at the Hospital and Clinics and at campus functions hosted at designated locations. Customer inquiries, problem resolution, ensuring departmental quality, and developing and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships between the users, the hospital and clinics, and Parking staff are important functions of the position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• 
  Supervise the valet parking and/or liaison operations for Parking Services. This includes directly monitoring traffic in front of the University of Illinois Medical Center to ensure the proper delivery of service to the users, working closely with University of Illinois Medical Center Personnel and Parking Enforcement in order to minimize service disruptions or inconvenience to customers, and directing employees on vehicle staging and/or placement. The position acts as a resource for information and guidance to visitors, and patients at the hospital and clinics. Information provided to customers usually will focus on the valet and/or liaison program information, parking areas, facility locations, transit information, and similar concerns.

• Scheduling personnel daily at the various locations on the Medical Campus and for event parking venues. Supervise the parking of guest vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

• Responsible for peripheral activities related to the parking program such as signage placement, inventory maintenance, and traffic and facility layout for valet areas within or outside campus facilities and/or neighboring streets.

• Mediate customer complaints or problems by following rules and procedures established by both written and verbal directives.

• Collect data such as vehicle counts, cash collection, personnel detail, and facility usage rates for daily business and event activity reports.

• Coordinate and/or supervise the work performance of employees involved in daily business or event parking assignments. The position will properly train staff for assignments.

• Reporting customer feedback regarding various parking issues to the management of Parking Services is important. Feedback should also include suggestions to address the concerns of customers.

• As directed, assist in the development, delivery, and maintenance if a quality customer service program, focusing on the user as the reason Parking services is on Campus

• Perform other duties as assigned.
